Give it a Whirl

So let's see. Back in the day I had a livejournal account, so maybe this'll be something similar. These entries will most likely be random crap I feel like blabbing on and on about. Welcome to the mind of Kelly, enter at your own risk!

Last night I was up til after 1am. Not exactly sure of the time I actually fell asleep. Falling asleep has been a more difficult task than usual in I'd say the past couple months. I also am still having nightmares and often wake up in nightsweats. I'm thinking the nightsweats are linked to anxiety 'cuz I never had them until college and they haven't stopped since. It sucks 'cuz I don't wake-up until after the fact I'm soaked in sweat. It's like the cold wakes me up and I'm like greeeat.

I wasn't that motivated this morning to get ready for work. I was like a slug, but somehow had a really good day at work. A lot of it would be due to who I was working with and the cooperation of the patients. As corny/cliche as it may sound, my job truly involves teamwork. I feel a nuisance at times when I ask my coworkers for help, but they're usually willing and fine with assisting me. I just don't want to be annoying, but I mean, when someone is ah, quite a handful in size or balance is completely off, I don't want to injure myself or the patient in the process of transfering them when I know all I need is another helper to make the "move" successful.

I tend to fall for old people. I've been working with old people for several years I'd say maybe 7 years I've worked with the elderly. I just connect with them for some reason. I love hearing their stories and taking care of them. Most just need someone to talk to, and I feel like that now! ha ha. I love to talk. I don't like silence. Silence freaks me out. I get nervous when it's silent.

Today after work I went hiking on a trail behind the hospital. I tried following a trail called Black Bear, but totally got lost. I talked to Pastor Lyon for 45min or so while hiking. I wanted to share some things with him and bond with him more and get to know him better. I admire him for various reasons and I value having him in my life. It was amazing talking to him. After concluding our chat, I found an opening in the trail. I ended up being in the backyard of some townhouse complex thing. It said on an tree "No Trespassing" so I just kept on my merry way and walked through there! I walked down the road and found myself behind Weis somewhere. I thought it was funny.

I got mad 'cuz the trail wasn't marked like at all. There were maybe two signs and so many different path looking thingers. Maybe I need a better sense of direction who knows. The combination of being outdoors by myself wandering around while the weather was somewhat decent and engaging in a deep conversation with someone special like Pastor Lyon was serene. It was like a natural high. I'm really lucky to have had that experience today.

Then I called my mom and talked her ear off. Now I'm going to grab a shower. This was fun, but probably boring to the readers. Oh well. I'm not sure what I'll do tonight. I might watch one of Heather's movies. I usually clean, read, crochet, watch a movie. I need to pack since I'm going home on Wed. Hmmm. Decisions decisions.
